A hill start aid apparatus using an ABS(Antilock Brake System) module is provided to reduce the production cost thereof by replacing a conventional brake control valve with a pressure control valve of the ABS module. A hill start aid apparatus comprises a plurality of pressure control valves for controlling the pressure in a brake cylinder, a buzzer(400) for generating an alarm signal, and an indicator(500) for displaying a warning signal. An HSA(Hill Start Aid) ECU(Electrical Control Unit)(200) controls the hill start aid apparatus, and generates a control signal according to a hill start aid state. The HSA ECU transits an HSA active state, first and second HSA inactive states, an HSA warning state and an HSA off state based on signals input by a plurality of switches. An ABS ECU(300) controls the pressure control valves based on the control signal. |
