An LCD(Liquid Crystal Display) and a manufacturing method thereof are provided to form a diffusion preventing film before forming a passivation film, thereby preventing metal of data lines and source and drain electrode from being diffused to the passivation film. A gate electrode(111a) is formed in a predetermined area of an insulating substrate(110), and a gate insulating film(112) is formed in the front of the substrate including the gate electrode. A semiconductor layer(113) is formed on the gate insulating film of an upper part of the gate electrode. Source and drain electrodes(114a,115) are formed on both side ends of the semiconductor layer and the gate insulating film at certain intervals. A diffusion preventing film(120) is formed on upper parts of the source and drain electrodes. A pixel electrode(121) is formed by electrically connected with the diffusion preventing film of an upper part of the drain electrode. A passivation film(122) is formed in the front of the substrate including the diffusion preventing film and the pixel electrode. |
