DISPLAY APPARATUS AND DRIVING METHOD OF THE SAME

A display apparatus and a driving method thereof are provided to improve side visibility of moving picture by displaying images having different gray scales from one another during one frame. A display apparatus includes a display panel(100), a gate driver(110), a gray scale signal divider(200), and a data driver(120). The display panel includes plural pixels, which are defined by gate, and data lines, and displays images. The gate driver supplies sequentially gate signals to the gate lines. The gray scale signal divider divides the primary gray scale signal of an n-th frame into first and second sub-gray scale signals, which are compensated based on the comparison between the primary gray scale signals of (n-1)-th frame and n-th frame. The data driver converts the first and second sub-gray scale signals into data voltages and outputs the converted data voltages to the data lines during first and second sub-frame periods.
