A system for enhancing the performance of an exhaust brake for a vehicle is provided to operate an exhaust brake automatically while operating a brake without an additional manual operation, and to improve the overall braking force by operating the exhaust brake always in braking. A system for enhancing the performance of an exhaust brake includes an air compressor(21), an air tank(25), an exhaust manifold(28), an air supplying line(32), and an actuator(24). The air compressor is mounted on an engine of a vehicle to generate air. The air tank stores air generated from the air compressor. The exhaust manifold receives compressed air from the air tank when the brake is operated. The air supplying line is connected between the air tank and the exhaust manifold such that the air of the air tank is supplied to the exhaust manifold. The actuator allows the exhaust valve to be closed in the operation of the brake. |
