A method and a system for debugging graphics pipeline subunits are provided to improve whole performance and a frame rate of a graphic pipeline by providing transparent setup/state information of the graphic pipeline subunits and enabling a user to make a decision for editing the state information based on transparent information. A first window displays a plurality of draw call groups and allows the user to select the draw call group. Each draw call group includes a plurality of draw calls and all draw calls of each draw call group share common state attributes of a defined state. A second window displays IDs of graphic pipeline subunits and allows the user to select one ID. A third window displays a plurality of state information of the selected graphic pipeline subunit associated with the selected draw call by responding to selection in the first and second windows. A fourth window displays graphic primitives rendered by the selected graphic pipeline subunit, which is caused by execution of the selected draw call.
