A method for preparing aromatic amines is provided to induce overwhelmingly improved economic efficiency, high selectivity, and long cycle time in a simple manner and to save expense for an expensive catalyst because a large amount of water is not used. A method for preparing aromatic amines represented by the following formula 1 includes the steps of: (1) performing hydrogenation under a heat-insulating condition at (a) an absolute pressure of 1-50 bar, (b) a gas mixture inflow temperature of 150-400 °C, and (c) a highest catalyst temperature of 600 °C; (2) passing a gas mixture through a fixed catalyst when hydrogenation is initiated, wherein the gas mixture comprises (i) 3-150 moles of hydrogen per nitrogen group 1 mole, and (ii) 1-100 moles of water per nitro group 1 mole; and (3) hydrogenating nitro aromatic compounds represented by the following formula 2 with hydrogen on a fixed catalyst, wherein hydrogen without substantially containing aromatic amines separated from a reaction mixture during hydrogenation returns to the hydrogenation reaction.
|
