<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a metal composite material capable of extending sliding service life of a desired sliding characteristic and a method for manufacturing the metal composite material. <P>SOLUTION: The metal composite material 10 is obtained by casting molten metal 6. Since granular aluminum boride 3 keeping a porous-state is expose-formed on the outer surface of the composite material 10, oils and fats penetrate into granular aluminum boride 3 on the outer surface and the oils and fats ooze out while the metal composite material is slid. In this way, the sliding service life of the desired sliding characteristic can be remarkably extended. This metal composite material 10 can be obtained by sintering a preform which is obtained by coating granular aluminum boride 3 with silica grains and alumina grains being electrically neutralized by mixing silica sol 4 and alumina sol 5 in water solution. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT</p> |
