PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce lubricating oil agitation resistance by discharging lubricating oil without letting it to stay within a bearing by changing the material of a retainer. SOLUTION: The retainer 10 for a conical roller bearing comprises a minor diameter annular part 12, a major diameter annular part 13 larger in diameter than the minor diameter annular part 12, and a plurality of column parts connecting the minor diameter annular part 12 to the major diameter annular part 13 at equal circumferential intervals in a plurality of points. A pocket 20 for storing a conical roller (not shown) is formed between two adjacent column parts 14. Since the retainer 10 has a number of through holes allowing passing of the lubricating oil therethrough in the thickness direction, the lubricating oil within the bearing can be easily discharged. The discharge quantity of the lubricating oil is increased in this way, whereby the lubricating oil agitation resistance is reduced. COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT
