PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a monitoring system for notifying an object entering a monitoring area or detected in the monitor area that he or she is in a monitoring area or is in a restrited area. SOLUTION: This monitoring system is provided with: an image pickup device for imaging a monitoring area; and an image processor for detecting an object from the image acquired by the image pickup device. When the object is detected by the image processor, the color of an illuminating lamp is changed to an unpleasant color, and the warning sound of a speaker is changed to an unpleasant sound. Also, when the object is detected by the image processor, and the object exists at the registered position, the color of the illuminating lamp is changed to an unpleasant color, and the warning sound of the speaker is changed to an unpleasant sound.
