A method for controlling an air conditioner of a vehicle is provided to shorten a bad-smell generation time by turning off an air conditioner switch while a cooling mode is being performed. A method for controlling an air conditioner of a vehicle comprises steps of determining whether an air conditioner switch is turned off(S2), determining whether a present mode is a vent mode(S2-1), and converting the vent mode into a bi-level mode(S2-3). After the bi-level mode, it is determined whether the present mode is an internal air mode or an external air mode(S3). If the present mode is the internal air mode, the present mode is converted into the external air mode(S4). In the external air mode, if relative humidity of air in an exhaust port of an air conditioner case is less than a reference value, the present mode is converted into an original mode(S8).
