PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a counter facilitating the adjustment of the height and having structure occupying a little space for adjusting the height. SOLUTION: This counter 1 is provided with a base 10, a table part 20 liftably/lowerably connected to the base 10, and an actuator interposed between the base part 10 and the table part 20 and lifting/lowering the table part 20; and is characterized in that either one of the base 10 and the table part 20 is erected with a pinion shaft having pinions in its both ends and the other is erected with a rack threadedly engaged with the pinions.
