<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a plasma display apparatus in which an external light blocking sheet, which absorbs and blocks incident light from the outside at its maximum, is attached onto the front side of a panel. <P>SOLUTION: The plasma display apparatus comprises a plasma display panel and a filter formed on the front side of the panel. The filter includes a base portion 110 and an external light blocking sheet 100 having a plurality of pattern portions 120a, 120b formed on the base portion 110.
