PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a side cutter excellent in cutting balance and excellent in discharging performance of chips. SOLUTION: This side cutter is furnished with a plurality of outer peripheral blades making roughly a disc shape and projected from an outer peripheral surface of a tool main body to be rotated around its axis. The outer peripheral blades are symmetrically formed against a flat surface dividing the side cutter into two in the cross direction, and it is favorable to form the outer peripheral blades in any of a protruded angle shape, a recessed trough shape, a protruded curved shape, and a recessed curved shape.
