ELECTROLYTE CONTAINING CYCLIC DITHIOCARBONATE-BASED COMPOUND AND SECONDARY BATTERY COMPRISING THE SAME

An electrolyte solution, an electrode, and a secondary battery containing the electrolyte solution and/or the electrode are provided to improve the lifetime performance and stability of a battery. An electrolyte solution comprises an electrolyte salt; an electrolyte solvent; and 0.1-20 parts by weight of a dithiocarbonate-based compound based on 100 parts by weight of an electrolyte solution, wherein a dithiocarbonate group forms some part of a ring. Preferably the dithiocarbonate group is represented by S-C(=O)-S or S-(C=S)-O, and the ring is a 4 to 14-membered heterocyclic ring. An electrode contains a solid electrolyte interface which contains the reduced one of a dithiocarbonate-based compound and is formed on the some or entire part of the surface of an electrode active material.
