PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for controlling automatic operation of bucket vehicles, capable of efficiently preventing collision of the bucket vehicles in an interference area while avoiding fire spreading to a guiding vehicle. SOLUTION: A method for controlling automatic operation of bucket vehicles loaded with red heat cokes taken out from a coke oven is provided, wherein, when simultaneously operating plural bucket vehicles by using one CDQ, a waiting position of one of bucket vehicles is automatically calculated based on current position of one of guide vehicles charged with red heat cokes on one of bucket vehicles, which position is out of the interference area set to avoid collision of bucket vehicles each other and gives the above-mentioned one of the guide vehicles no effect of red heat cokes loaded on a bucket of the above-mentioned one of bucket vehicles. And, based on the calculation result, the above-mentioned one of bucket vehicles is once stopped at the calculated waiting position and made to wait till another bucket vehicle on work in the above-mentioned interference area finishes the work and leaves from the above-mentioned interference area.
