PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a core for a reactor which is excellent in heat radiation. SOLUTION: The core 2 consists of an inner core 21, an outer core 22, end cores 23A, 23B, and a gap 4 is attached on the core 2. The gap 4 is formed by distributing and disposing a plurality of gap materials 41-44 in the inner core 21, and the inner core 21 is divided into a plurality of core pieces 21A-21E by the gap materials. The gap materials 41-44 are each a gap material having a high thermal conductivity gap material made of a material having a thermal conductivity of not less than 100 W/m×K and a specific resistance of not less than 1.0×10<SP>7</SP>Ωm at 25°C. The heat of the core pieces 21B-21D is efficiently transmitted to core pieces adjacent thereto through the gap materials 41-44, thereby ensuring heat radiation performance of the core pieces 21B-21D and improving the heat radiation performance of the core 2.
