<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To eliminate the interruption or cancellation of a job caused by the shortage of a charge during a printing operation. <P>SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus provided with a charging means for charging a copying utilization charge comprises: a job starting means for starting a job; a copying mode setting means for setting a copying mode; a copying mode analysis means for analyzing the set copying mode; and a charge calculation system for calculating a charge. The copying mode set by the copying mode setting means is analyzed by the copying mode analysis means, and, in the case the number of sheets of documents can be specified from the contents of the copying mode and the position of the document, a charge inquiry command is transmitted to the charge calculation system by the job starting means, and in the case the number of sheets of the documents can not be specified, an ordinary job starting command is transmitted. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
