PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a manufacturing method of a polyelectrolyte membrane in which permeation of fuel components such as hydrogen-containing liquid has been suppressed while sufficiently securing proton conductivity, and provide the polyelectrolyte membrane manufactured by the manufacturing method, and its representative utilization examples.

SOLUTION: The manufacturing method of the polyelectrolyte membrane includes an immersion process in which the polyelectrolyte membrane obtained by having a proton conductive group introduced into a polymer film that contains a polymer compound having an aromatic unit as well as a polymer compound having no aromatic unit is immersed into a solution containing a compound such as, for example, di-vinyl benzene.
