PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image processing apparatus capable of removing or suppressing colors, suppressing sharp change of luminance and outputting a natural image even in moving picture processing. SOLUTION: A color interpolation processing part 12 processes an image signal input from an image color signal input part 11 to find out a color difference by color interpolation. When the positive/negative sign of a vertical color difference coincides with that of a horizontal color difference, the color difference of which the absolute value is smaller out of the vertical color difference and the horizontal color difference is found out by the color interpolation processing part 12, and when the positive/negative sign of the vertical color difference is different from that of the horizontal color difference, processing for setting the color difference to zero is performed.
