The method involves applying a voltage (V) between a charge and the needle point of a raster tunnel microscope, where current is measured by the needle as a function of the voltage. The current and its derivative are delivered to the voltage after the voltage is in connection with a transmission coefficient. The electronic density of charge is determined from the measured current. The derivative of the transmission coefficient is considered after the voltage with the determination of the electronic density of state charge.
