The method involves providing an optical control device (9) that detects an installation position of a component i.e. cylinder tube end cap (7) by utilization of reflected light. The component carries color pigments, which are detected during illumination with certain wave band deviating from the natural light. The color pigments are provided in a separating agent during injection molding of the component, where the component is made of plastic. The component has a stamping ink containing the color pigments.
