An optical pickup apparatus and an optical recording/reproducing system employing the same are provided to maximize use of space for the optical pickup apparatus by arranging optical paths of two 3-axis actuators within the optical pickup apparatus effectively. An optical pickup apparatus(100) comprises first and second actuators(110,150) to respectively drive a plurality of objective lenses for recording/reproducing different types of optical recording media, wherein at least one of the actuators is triaxial. The first actuator has an optical path on its back side, and the second actuator has an optical path on its lateral side.
