<p>A detector for detecting the relative positional relation of the tool of a machine tool and a work by bringing a detection needle fixed to a tool stand into contact with the work. Its detection needle is also provided. A nonmagnetic detection needle performing measurement with high precision, having sufficient hardness durable against repeated contact with a work, and exhibiting high machining and assembling precision is obtained, and a contact detector equipped with such a detection needle is also provided. The detection needle of a contact detector is produced of precipitation hardening austenitic stainless steel containing vanadium, carbon and nickel as composition. In a detection needle (1) of a contact detector, the tip portion (2) to be in contact with a work and the shaft portion (3) have an integral structure cut from the austenitic stainless steel having the above-mentioned composition.</p> |
