Electrochemical system for dosing of a biological compound by an enzyme

System for determining the amount of a biological analyte in a body fluid sample comprises a sensor comprising an enzyme electrode, a reference electrode and a device for varying the enzyme electrode's temperature, a measuring device that receives the sensor and is connected to a power supply and comprises an electronic circuit for controlling the temperature-varying device and applying a voltage across the electrodes, and an analyzer that can discriminate between the signal generated by the analyte and signals resulting from interference by other biological compounds. Independent claims are also included for: (1) determining the amount of a biological analyte in a body fluid sample using a system as above; (2) sensor as above in which the temperature-varying device is a heating coil located beneath the enzyme electrode and insulated from it.
