Carbon nanotube composites for blade cleaning in electrophotographic marking systems

A cleaning blade (3) is used to clean a photoreceptor surface (2) in an electrophotographic marking system. The elastomeric blade (3) contains an amount of carbon nanotubes (19) that improves the mechanical, electrical and thermal properties for cleaning the photoreceptor surface (2). The nanotubes can be disposed throughout the elastomer in the blade (3) or can be dispersed only at a tip (22) of the blade (3) or only in the bottom section (23) of the blade (3).
