A cap assembly, and a secondary battery containing the cap assembly are provided to improve the sealing efficiency between an electrode terminal and a gasket and to prevent the leakage of an electrolyte solution. A cap assembly(100) comprises a cap plate(10) having a terminal penetration hole(11); an electrode terminal(20) which penetrates through the terminal penetration hole; and a gasket(50) which is interposed between the electrode terminal and the cap plate to seal the terminal penetration hole, wherein the electrode terminal comprises a head part(30) which is formed at the upper part of the gasket to seal the terminal penetration hole, and a body part(40) which penetrates the inside of the gasket and has at least one sealing unit at the outer circumference. |
