PROCESS OF UPGRADING OF HEAVY OIL APPARATUS THEREOF

A process of upgrading heavy oil comprises a step (A) of allowing heavy oil underground to make contact with water in a well, and then pumping up a mixture of heavy oil and water from the underground, a step (B) of upgrading the heavy oil to oil having lower viscosity by heating and/or pressurizing the pumped-up mixture of heavy oil and water in the step (A) in a reactor for allowing the mixture to react with high-temperature water including supercritical water, and a step (C) of separating a resultant mixture flowing out of the process in the step (B) into hydrocarbon gas, oil and water.
