#CMT# #/CMT# The device has a latch placed on a connector (3) and cooperating with a clearance (10) in another connector (4). The latch is operated between a locking position, in which the latch is introduced in the clearance, and an unlocking position, in which the latch is retracted from the clearance. The connector (3) carries the latch using a flexible lever arm (11) that is elastically operated between locking and unlocking positions of the latch. A control arm (14) operates the lever arm and independently carried by one of the connectors. #CMT#USE : #/CMT# Device for mechanically connecting a connector of a discharge lamp of a motor vehicle`s headlight (claimed) to a connector of a power supply source. #CMT#ADVANTAGE : #/CMT# The flexible lever arm is elastically operated between locking and unlocking positions of the latch, thus permitting locking of casings of the connectors while permitting a voluntary unlocking operation in an easy and rapid manner. The connecting device is implemented with a standard discharge lamp without modifying the discharge lamp. The utilization of the independent control arm reduces the encumbrance of the connector carrying the control arm, and prohibits spontaneous maneuvering of the lever arm, thus preventing accidental unlocking of the latch.
