PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an alarm clock that realizes sures awakening from sleeping and allows wake-up at a desired time. SOLUTION: The clock having alarm functions measures the time of a clock section 11 and issues an operation start trigger, when it becomes an alarm function operation time. This trigger causes an alarm function section 15 to start operation to ring a bell or electronic sound, and a sight line information sensing section 12 emits light and detects the light reflected from the people's eye, thereby sensing the sight line information. A sight line presence determining section 13 determines the presence of the sight line based on the sight line information; and when it is determined that there is a sight line, an alarm function operation section 14 gives commands to the alarm function section 15 to stop the alarm function.
