A DMB receiving method for improving battery consumption is provided to turn off automatically a DMB function for a certain time and attempt to receive a DMB signal when the DMB signal is not received as the DMB signal is weak, thereby significantly reducing the battery consumption by the attempt to receive the DMB signal. A DMB(Digital Multimedia Broadcasting) receiving method for improving battery consumption comprises the following steps of: detecting a DMB signal when a DMB function is on and attempting to receive the DMB signal(S200,S202); attempting continuously the reception of the DMB signal for a first preset reference time when the DMB signal is not detected(S206~S210); turning off the DMB function when the DMB signal is not detected after the first reference time(S212); and attempting to receive the DMB signal by turning on the DMB function after maintaining the DMB function off state for a second preset reference time(S214~S218).
