<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To achieve proper balance of speeding up of a data rate and suppression of transmission power in a CDMA communication system. <P>SOLUTION: When a plurality of spreading codes can be secured, a decision section 101 notifies a user data separation section 103 and spreading sections 105-1 to 105-n that code multiplexing is performed. The user data separation section 103 separates user data and delivers them to the spreading sections 105-1 to 105-n. The spreading sections 105-1 to 105-n use spreading codes that are different from one another to spread the user data.
