A thin input device and a handset having the same are provided to displace a component separately by separating a housing from a circuit board. A thin input device includes an operation device, a displacement detecting device, and a housing(190). The operation device is displaceable in any direction. The displacement detecting device is electrically connected to an external device, and detects the displacement of the operation device. The housing is separably installed at the fixing component of the external device, and receives the operation device. The external device is a terminal, and the fixing component is a main circuit board(10) installed at the terminal.
