<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a power window device capable of preventing an article from being erroneously detected to have been caught by a window glass despite the fact that the article has not been caught by the window glass and reducing a load applied to the article caught by the window glass. <P>SOLUTION: The sliding resistances of the window glass in a roof open state and a roof closed state are different from each other even if the window glass is at the same position. The frequencies of the pulse signals input from a pulse sensor into a controller are different from each other, and frequency difference values calculated based on it are different from each other. A frequency difference value for roof open state and a frequency difference value for roof closed state are stored in a memory.
