METHOD FOR AUTHENTICATING GIFT CERTIFICATE

A method for authenticating a gift certificate is provided to authenticate whether the gift certificate is genuine as extracting information for the gift certificate which includes a serial number from a scan image of the gift certificate and transmitting the information to the authentication server in real time. A method for authenticating a gift certificate includes the following steps: a step(S10) that a server which issues a gift certificate transmits the gift certificate information having a serial number of the issued gift certificate to the authentication server; a database storage step(S20) that the authentication server receives the gift certificate information from the gift certificate issue server and stores the gift certificate information in the gift certificate database; a gift certificate authentication request step(S30) that a client terminal generates information of the gift certification for authentication, transmits the information to the authentication server, and requests authentication; a gift certificate authentication step(S40) that the authentication server compares the gift certificate information transmitted from the client terminal with the gift certificate issue information stored in the database, and authenticates whether the gift certificate is genuine; and a authentication information receipt step(S50) that the client terminal receives the authentication information for genuineness which the authentication server transmits.
