<p>As cylinders are switched off, fuel is introduced for a short time into one of the cylinders that has been switched off. This fuel is burnt up under neutral torque. While cylinders are switched off, fresh combustion air is only introduced into a cylinder switched off with a bearing on any operational cycle during which fuel is burnt up. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) A computer program for use in the method of the present invention; (2) An electric storage medium for an internal combustion engine's control device; (3) A programmed control device for an internal combustion engine.</p> |
