A method of manufacturing high-functional laver with a color pattern by spreading a coloring composition on a letterpress block with a pattern, placing laver on the coloring composition and then pressing the laver to form a coloring pattern on the surface of laver is provided to produce the laver having the color pattern. A coloring composition is spread on a letterpress block with a pattern, the laver sheet(2) is then placed on the coloring composition, pressed and dried to give the laver(1) with a color pattern(3). The coloring composition is prepared by stirring water, sodium carboxymethyl cellulose, calcium components and glycerin in a stirring tank while heating, pouring functional components and/or flavoring components and/or pigments and stirring. Instead of the sodium carboxymethyl cellulose, cellulose-based carbohydrate polymers such as cellulose, methyl cellulose, calcium carboxymethyl cellulose, carboxymethyl starch, starch, pectin, alginate, carrageenan, chitosan, oligochitosan, dextrin, maltodextrin, Arabic gum, ghatti gum, karaya gum, tara gum, tragacanth gum, guar gum, locust bean gum, xanthan gum, gellan gum and the like or protein such as collagen, gelatin, casein, bean protein, whey, wheat gluten, peanut protein and the like are used.
