<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a novel fluorophor exerting blue to red color emission by near-ultraviolet excitation. <P>SOLUTION: This fluorophor which emits light by irradiation of a near-ultraviolet ray is represented by general formula (1); A<SB>2-x</SB>B<SB>x</SB>O<SB>1+x</SB>N<SB>2-x</SB>:RE wherein A is at least one kind of element selected from the group consisting of Si, Ge, and C; B is at least one kind of element selected from the group consisting of A1, Ga, B, and In; RE is at least one kind of element selected from the group consisting of Ce, Pr, Nd, Sm, Eu, Gd, Tb, Dy, Ho, Er, Tm, Yb, Lu, and Mn; and x represents a number satisfying 0≤x<0.3. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
