PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for dyeing, which maintains functionality and quality of fibers at the same time in dyeing fiber materials by using a supercritical carbon dioxide fluid, etc. SOLUTION: In the method, when dyeing in the supercritical carbon dioxide fluid, a functionalizing agent which is previously kneaded in the fiber is contained in the supercritical carbon dioxide fluid, concentration gradient of the functionalizing agent in the fiber and in the supercritical carbon dioxide fluid is balanced, and bleed out of the functionalizing agent in the fiber is suppressed.
