PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a belt traveling device using an endless belt, wherein the movement in a width direction, what is called, meandering is reduced, thus, stable traveling is accomplished. SOLUTION: A meandering prevention guide comes in contact with the end part of a roller 204 that has less friction. The meandering force of the endless belt 202 is reduced between the roller 204 and the endless belt 202, and the abutting force against the end part of the roller 204 is also reduced. Further, the meandering amount of the belt is reduced. The device is constituted so that the meandering prevention guide 203 comes in contact with the end part of the roller 204 so as to suppress the meandering of the endless belt 202, if the meandering of the meandering prevention guide 203 occurs, the roller 204 moves in a direction shown by an arrow A (actually, the endless belt 202 moves) when the meandering speed is high, on the other hand, when the meandering speed is low, the roller 204 moves in a direction shown by an arrow B (same as the above).
