摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a power monitoring device or a power monitoring network system, capable of attaining a power reduction target without degradation of use conditions for customers. <P>SOLUTION: The operating state for a fixed period of an image forming device is monitored to store each operation mode time (S10), and a current power consumption for the fixed period of the image forming device is calculated based on the state for the fixed period and stored (S11). A plurality of alternate devices of the same degree as the currently used image forming device is extracted from a database (S12), and it is confirmed whether the energy saving mode transition time of each of the extracted image forming devices is equal to that of the image forming device or not (S13). When the time equal thereto is confirmed, a power consumption in execution of the operation pattern for the fixed period of the image forming device by the extracted device concerned is calculated (S14). A power reduction is calculated from the power consumption of the image forming device and the power consumption of the extracted device concerned and stored (S16).
