摘要 A high water content tolerable process for producing polyether is provided to minimize or inhibit water-caused inactivation of a double metal cyanide catalyst, thereby allowing the use of a starting material having a higher water content than that of a currently used starting material. A high water content tolerable process for producing polyether comprises the steps of: providing an oxyalkylation condition in an oxyalkylation reactor in the presence of about 5-1,000 ppm of a double metal cyanide catalyst based on the weight of the final polyether; continuously introducing to the reactor, at least one alkylene oxide, and a low-molecular weight starting material having a number average molecular weight of less than about 300 Da, containing about 200-5,000 ppm of water and acidified with about 10-2,000 ppm of at least one protic inorganic acid or organic acid; and recovering a polyether product having a number average molecular weight of about 200-400 Da, wherein the content(ppm) of water and acid is based on the weight of the low-molecular weight starting material.
