PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming device having a simple mechanism which is capable of preventing any flap fold deviation and wrinkles of an envelope at low cost. SOLUTION: The image forming device comprises a paper feed unit for storing recorded media, an image forming unit for forming an image on the recorded media, a recorded medium conveying means for conveying the recorded media to be fed from the paper feed unit to the image forming unit via a recorded medium conveying passage, and a fixing unit for fixing the image formed on the recorded medium. The recorded medium conveying passage has a recorded medium conveying passage for conveying envelopes having a recorded medium pressing device in the middle of the passage, and a recorded medium conveying passage for conveying regular paper sheets having no recorded medium pressing device. A recorded medium conveying passage changing means is provided between the recorded medium conveying passage and the paper feed unit, and a control means for controlling the passage changing operation is provided.
