The present invention relates to a wireless local area network comprising a plurality of access nodes (12a, 12b) arranged to supply communication services to a plurality of client type devices (14). The network (10) comprises a server node (15, 51), connected to one of the access nodes (12b) and arranged to configure the plurality of access nodes (12a, 12b) by means of a communication protocol (53) including a limited number of commands.
