<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the operability of a user interface function which can designate a required date of photographing on a calendar displaying screen, and can look at a list of a digital image file at the date of photographing, in a recording apparatus equipped with a user interface means having an operating part and a displaying part. <P>SOLUTION: When an upper button U is pushed down, a calendar screen of the nearest month where an image group exists before the previous month can be displayed. When a lower button D is pushed down, a calendar screen of the nearest month where an image group exists after the next month can be displayed. When a right button R is pushed down, a cursor on the calendar screen can be moved in the direction of the previous day, and when a left button L is pushed down, the cursor on the calendar screen can be moved in the direction of the next day.
