A polymerization inhibitor for 1,3-butadiene is provided to ensure excellent effects of inhibiting polymerization and preventing fouling and suppress polymerization of 1,3-butadiene in a gas-phase and liquid-phase wide temperature environment. A polymerization inhibitor for 1,3-butadiene comprises an alkylphenol-based fouling inhibitor containing one or two hydroxyl groups, an amine-based fouling inhibitor, and an organic solvent. A method for inhibiting polymerization of 1,3-butadiene includes a step of, when 1,3-butadiene is extracted and distilled from mixed C4s in an extractive distillation column(1), charging the polymerization inhibitor into the extractive distillation column.
