A touch screen display device and a driving method thereof are provided to realize a slim size by forming a touch screen sensor in an LCD(Liquid Crystal Display) panel, and simplify a structure and prevent brightness reduction by using a vertical wiring forming the touch screen sensor as a data line and using horizontal wiring as a storage line. A gate line(22) and a sensor line(24) are formed on a first transparent substrate. A data line crosses the gate line and the sensor line with insulation. A second transparent substrate faces the first transparent substrate. A sensor electrode(142) is formed on the second transparent substrate corresponding to a point crossing the sensor line and the data line, and transfers current between the sensor line and the data line when pressure is applied from the outside. A protection film is formed on the sensor/data line, and is equipped with first contact holes(71,72) and a second contact hole(73) exposing a part of the sensor/data line. First and second electrode pads(84,86) are respectively connected to the sensor and data line through the first and second contact hole.
