A method and a device for providing information by using a gaze tracing system are provided to offer the information of a gazed word or terminology by tracing a gazing direction with the gaze tracing system, and offer a new interface for removing inconvenience of searching the word from a dictionary directly by promptly presenting meaning of the word in real-time based on a traced gazing position. A gazing position determiner(201) determines a gazing position of a reader by receiving gazing direction information of the reader from a gaze tracing system. A word extractor(205) extracts the word or a phrase corresponding to the determined gazing position of the reader. An information provider(207) extracts the information corresponding to the extracted word or phrase, and displays the extracted information through a monitor. A gaze-stopping determiner(203) generates an event for enabling the word extractor to extract the word or the phrase corresponding to the gazing position of the reader continuously when the gazing position of the reader reads a sentence.
