<p>Rotation symmetrical and identical primary coil half-sections (2, 3) and secondary coils (4, 5) are arranged in assemblies each comprising a primary coil half-section and a secondary coil, the latter being located on the same symmetry axis as the respective primary coil half-section. These assemblies are oriented with their symmetry axes parallel or anti-parallel to each other. An alternating magnetic field susceptometer comprises primary and secondary coils and one of the secondary coils contains a cavity for holding a sample. At least two primary coil half-sections and at least two secondary coils are present. The primary coil half-sections are rotation symmetrical and identical with respect to the winding direction, as are the secondary coils. Each secondary coil is located on the same symmetry axis as the respective primary coil half-section so that at least two assemblies each comprising a primary coil half-section and a secondary coil are formed, these assemblies being oriented with their respective symmetry axes anti-parallel, or alternatively they can be oriented with their symmetry axes parallel if the assemblies are positioned side by side. The winding direction of the primary and secondary coils and the connection of these coils to each other are designed so that induced voltage in the secondary coils is ess! entially eliminated in the absence of a sample and in the event of exposure to an external magnetic field.</p> |
