The invention relates to a method, according to which the sub-stream is fed to the internal combustion engine (1) behind the exhaust gas outlet (Ia) of the latter, either via a first sub-stream line (2a), through a first valve (3) that is connected downstream of said line, a first valve outlet (5) and a recirculation line (7) or is first conducted, together with the remaining quantity of exhaust gas, through an exhaust line (14) and is then recirculated to the internal combustion engine (1) through a second sub-stream line (2b) that is connected to the exhaust line (14), via a second valve (4) that is connected downstream of said line, a second valve outlet (6) and a recirculation line (7). According to the invention, the first valve (3) and the second valve (4) are opened and closed in accordance with the exhaust gas conditions. The invention also relates to a device for carrying out said method. |
