PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance the speed by reducing the computation amount of an iterative reconstruction approach used in a CT reconstruction. SOLUTION: Methods are provided for iteratively reconstructing an image signal 50 to generate a reconstructed image signal 52. In one embodiment, sub-iterations of each iteration are performed on pixel subsets. The pixel subsets may be composed of pixels neighboring or spatially separated pixel. In a further embodiment, each iteration is performed at a different resolution.
